Yes they catch big boys there but you need a boat.

I fish "boatless" lol so canals are my thing .

Canals have good size PB so no complaints but from what I have seen in pics seems Okeechobe in some areas has biggest PB.

I got few sites from boats I have seen. Think they felt sorry for me fishing by lake/canal edge and gave me cards lol but here are their links.

I will say this every guide I have met here has been very nice and they all seem to catch PB ,etc.

Huge Pb are biting now as its in 90s which is their ideal temp. I work by Tamiami canal 8th street and BIG PB are there now .

I mention it just in case you try canal without a guide. Lots BIG bright red Midas cichlids also but NO ONE catches them . Well this man did lol but very hard.
