one of the ugliest fish on earth.

ive seen them with large predators before, specifically oscars. they get pretty sizable for a gourami

edit: it reminds me of thumb wrestling

I have mine with a senegal bichir, dempsey, black knife, crayfish, and a jurapari. He was housed with a firemouth, Jaguar, and two oscars with no problems. They say to house them with rowdy cichlids. Your peacock may give it problems as it gets bigger. My Jag was still small when they were in the same tank.

I have four small ones I'm raising right now. I think the Kissing Gourami is one of those fish, like Oscars, that are loved by some and regarded as ugly or unattractive by just as many others. They get along with most anything else except for tiny fish they can eat, but males can and will fight; the kissing behaviour. They can reach about 8" or more, and sometimes 12"+ with proper care as they have been reported to live up to 15 years. They are also fantastic algae eaters. You will see them kissing the glass or decorations as they graze on the algae. Mine will eat flake food, bloodworms, tiny shrimp and zuchini.

your worried about the bass when hes got an rtc in there?

I've seen them over 12" in public aquaria. Like many gouramis, they can be pretty mean

I have a 6" and a 5" in with my Jd's they are actually pretty peaceful until someone else starts something with them. then they may just "kiss" the other fishes face off.

but they seem to work with other fish. they seem to max out at 12" from what I've seen and have some nice spines on their backs which make an impressive display when flexed. overall though, they don't seems to have the personality of the jd's.

i had one and i had it for 4 or so years and it only got to 5" maby but its soposed to get up to 12". ITs mean for its size. and i had mine with a ck and a pacu.
