Love the butterflies! Is anybody any good with them?
I'm ok. I can flick it around all flashy like. I used to be a lot better and know a bunch of tricks.

Thalan is that auto opener an otf?
otf? if thats a brand then no. Its some nameless piece of junk an exgf got at a flea market

Do you guys actually use your knives? The photo of my LMFII is when it was new, it's all beat to hell now cause I actually take it out in the field and use it like it was meant to be used! (Firewood cutting mostly).

I only own one (full tang) but at least I use it! I have a Kershaw Leek as well for fishing and general use.

Most of those I just sit back and think WTF.

I almost got Leek a while back, but went with a Benchmade instead. I love Ken Onions designs.
As far as using my blades. if you look closely at that fist picture, and later of the curved black knife in my hand you can see that the finish on that one, the machetes, and the tomahawk are quite worn. I use the hell out of 'em. Like I said the black one (Scimitar) has saved my life. Cold Steel makes some tough knives so I treat accordingly.
The black and silver rapier has also seen a great deal of use, but the rapier I use most is not here for pictures right now.
I feel compelled to say at some point in this thread that carrying a knife for self defense is foolish and dangerous unless you are thoroughly trained in its use. There Disclaimer over.

thalan, otf is out the front. ur knife does not appear to be one.
I have been looking at smith and wesson otf version 2!! awesome!!
u also said anout ha ha to the ones who cant get auto's, look at the 2 special knives :)

im ok with my butterfly

and yes i use my knifes. i use them quite often.

Ah, that makes sense. I really want the MOD Triton but its kinda pricey at $500+. I'm not real big on autos usually I just have a friend from VA where they're illegal so I like to lord it over him.

my inlaws go on missions trips alot, they bring me back alot of stuff ;)

What are the laws in you guys' towns? Here, any knife that doesn't fir these criteria cannot be carried, unless for fishing, hunting, camping, etc

Blade can't exceed 4"
Can't be opened with a spring, or with a button or switch on the handle

Can't open with gravity or centrifugal force

Mine is legal... the blade is like 3", and it's operated with 2 plastic pegs on the dull edge of the blade. I can flick it out with my thumb though.

Florida has great knife laws. As long as it folds and its not concealed you're good. That how I carry a folder with a 6" blade. Most people assume theres a length limit so I get a lot of people thinking Im breaking the law, but w/e.
