I currently have 5 BGK. My big boy is around 14 inches now - the other 4 are just babies - 3 inches.
Shadow - my big boy hates light. He hesitates (never quite stops him but he does seem to wait longer) if the hall light is on and hates to have the tank lights on at any time. I spoiled him - I keep the tank lights off and make sure that the hall light is off before I feed him. It is really my fault... or so I have found out from my other 4 Ghosties.
The 4 babies have been with me for about a month now. Tank lights on every day - sunshine from the patio door - bright room lights - and these little beggars are always zooming around. One of them refuses to use any of the caves provided and sleeps by wedging himself into one of the plastic plants.. directly under the lights.
These little dudes/dudetts are fantasic and very active. Very different from "Shadow" who I spoiled so badly that he now rules the 72 Bowfront and anyone who disagrees has to leave... it is his domain. A beatiful aquarium with a great lighting system (whole thing brought used) and it is full of hollow logs and caves and very rarely has a light on.
But then again, Shadow is my favorite. He will come to the side of the tank if I call him - looking for food for sure but it is still very cool.
I just have to get a big tank setup with lots of PVC piping, caves, etc. for my little ones. Then it will be wait and see if I can get a 'pairing'.... with enough territory and enough food I am hoping to be able to get them to atleast pair up.
Time will tell I guess.
They will be moving into a 45 Gal this weekend - moving my Angels into my Hex finally.
