Any one keep royal knifes with rays, does the knife pose any threat to the ray...
Thanks

Okay, good I really want a royal knife but can't find one at the moment

Ive got two 12"-13" motoro rays in with a 8" clown.. No problems so far. But having to watch rt now since one of the Motoro (think it was the male) took out one of my bala sharks just last week. But so far, the clown is doing just fine... He has a flat rock propped against the glass, so its a good cave for him to get into and hide in and escape if he has to.. They have been together for maybe 4 months

Mine have np

Knife fish eventually become ray food. They can produce electrical fields which the rays are totally designed to home in on. Its only a matter of time .

Anything is considered food to a ray if it can catch it. Just make sure your Knife is big enough to hofully get away if it does get into any trouble.
Like I said, I have had a knife in with my rays for awhile and had no problem. But there is always that chance... Made sure you gie it a good hiding place that the ray ill not be able to get to it now matter what..

Thats funny because I was concern about the knife hurting the ray, lol

no, just keep your knife feed and he will be fine. As I said in one of my other posts, I put a flat rock up against the glass for him to hide in. It like a little cave for him.
Then to make sure the knife gets food, I put in a feeding tube that goes down into his cave. That way at least I kow he gets what he needs before the rays or hte aro eat everything in the tank.
