Like the title says, does anybody know of cool fish native to Europe? I'm heading to Luxemburg, France, and Germany this summer. Just can't get the thought of bringing fish back out of my head. (Yes, I will be getting an importing license) So out of the 522 freshwater species living there, which is the most interesting?

Thanks in advance!

sturgeons
they should be awesome

Perca fluviatilis. Tinca tinca. Rutilus rutilus. Barbatula barbatula. Leucaspius delineatus.
Gobio gobio gobio. These are natives to sweden and are all coldwater. See fishbase for info.

pike? trout? salmon? I'm clueless. Go ice fishing and take pics!

wells catfish, stone loach? it should be good seeing natrual (bad spelling) habitats of the fish you collect so you can do a biotope.

All very interesting fish, thanks for the scientific names! Makes searching easy. :)
Still looking for some "freak fish" though. Something that looks maybe prehistoric. :naughty:

I plan on bringing some plants and driftwood back too just for the biotype. I'll make sure to take tons of pictures while I'm collecting. I bought a new cast net just for the occasion. :D

Stone loach (barbatula barbatula) is a start...

Forgot to ask about crustaceans, are there large growing crays native to the area?

would you be willing to get a ton of baby wels and sell em on here?
There are a TON of people wanting one, and they don't seem to be in the us at all, as far as the hobby goes...

1K each :grinno: What's a fair price though? I don't want to over charge. How about 20-150 each depending on size and how many I can collect? What should I look for that assures what I have is a wels, not a hybrid or similar cat?
