Never have to use anything other than a palomar. Knot always is stronger than the line and will never slip.

the palamar is the best my dad has fished in the walley national championship and it never fails him
Eye crosser is my latest go-to knot. Similar to palomar in strength and size. Easier to tie in my opinion, especially when I am attaching a rig that I prepared beforehand

I find that the Palomar is one of the best, or pretty much any other knot similar, in which you have TWO or more passes through the hook/lure/terminal tackle.That double contact will get you a lot more landed fish, coupled with braid, just can't be beat.
