Saki hikari is a great food and really works, We used it for 2 years and just switched over to the Hi-Silk. The prices of course are high but totally worth it. I would recommend feeding growth only for the hottest months of summer and 4 weeks before winter feed the color only. The color and growth dont mix well together but when feed seperately work very well. We used hi-silk over last summer and got great results, the only thing that i can complain about is that it is not readily avalible and we have to special order it. This summer we are going back to hi silk again. Growth was better than the saki and so were the whites. The reds suffered a bit but if you just switch to the saki color food before winter it should be fine.
Comparing the waste amounts between the Saki and the Silk, When fed the Saki its a lower amount of waste by just a bit compared with eachother. But when compared with regular Hikari Growth or Ogata Growth (not even going to touch hi feng) the waste is MUCH less.
IMO go with whatever you want to and whatever one fits your budget well. As the foods are not cheap when you feed heavy for the fish to grow fast.
