well i guarantee you guys that even the smaller monitor species kill tenthousands of crocs evry year
Monitors are notorious for raiding nests wether that's birds, snakes, other monitors, and crocodiles.

I have to say though, monitors are extremely smart reptiles that are capable of killing a crocodile but most of the time its the monitor in the croc's dinner plate.

monitors kill crocs though these are all babies, juvies, and eggs.
crocs kill monitors, these can be of any size.
my point is, it all depends on the size of each animal. if each were adults, the croc would win because of its size, strength, ability to survive missing half a tail and two legs, and their tough skin

fact is, that crocodiles get monitors very rarely. On the other side croc nests are one major food scource for monitors. monitors are capable to destroy the entire crocodile population of an area. They are one of the main reasons why the nests of rare species like the Gharial and Tomistoma are bred in the lab. Intelligence and agility always wins over brute force.
Basically all the species of the varanus family are venomous (Venom, not bacteria or anything like that), there's a study of a monitor specimen which has so much venom in its mouth that could kill an adult elephant.
