I used to get Siniperca chuatsi in all the time, but I have never seen S. scherzeri available on any lists. I don't know which one looks better at larger sizes but yours does look very cool. I have a 750 gallon tank that it would look nice in. hmmm.... How far are you from Bakersfield?
 
According to fishbase, yours has pretty much reached its maximum size potential at 11" as opposed to the supposed 28" that S. chuatsi is claimed to reach. Interesting difference in size.
