Hello fellow fish heads. I know you can use krylon fusion on diy over flows, pvc, acrylic and other plastics i have used it a few times for over flows but never for any thing else to put in my tanks. My quistion is simple what else if any thing can you paint with it to put in a fish tank. Will it stick and not flake of rocks? Can you paint a glass bottle with it and have it adhere to it and not flake off. Or can you only use it on pvc or plastic, or acrylic to use inside a tank. Sorry if this has allready been cover i searched for about a hour through threads and couldnt find it used on any thing excepts plastic, acrylic or pvs. If any one has used it on any other kind of material to be submerged in a tank with good results please let me know thanks for your time as allways guys. And i know my grammer sucks.

good questions. wish i had answers but i do have a questions for you. where did you find that fusion at i tried the hardware store they didnt have it. did you order it online?

Were i live there is a lowes but they do not carry it. Dont know about how debot there isnt one were i live. I know that you can order from lowes online and do a in store pick up which will be free shipping if you pick it up at the store. I personaully buy mine were i live at auto zone. Which is a car part store. Food for thought make sure your prodjuct is done before you use it. It cost me 7.45 a can here so i hate to waste it.

A lot of people recommend Black Krylon fusion to paint white PVC pipes. My fish hit the pipes so hard, some of the black has rubbed off. On another note, I was considering doing a faux finish floor in my tank

I contacted Krylon, who didn't recommend using their paint in this manner. They could not guarantee that it was safe for fish. They have some textured Krylon Fusion that looks very interesting, especially the White Sands Textured. It would really be great if it could be sprayed on the bottom of the tank (inside) to create the illusion of sand on the floor, But Krylon will not say that their paints are fish safe. :( :(

I have used krylon paints mostlly gloss black or flat for five yrs in terrariums, reefs and freshwater livebearer tanks ,never had one problem, so it is safe , reef central members use lots of it. let it dry one week and do multilple coats after drying and then let it completely dry for 6 to 7 days. NOT ONE FISH OR AMPHIPIAN lost to poisining in five years so I would say IT IS completely SAFE.

I am well aware that it is fish safe, were to get it and all that. Like the top part says i have used it before. the quistion is what besides plastic, pvc, and acrylic have people used it for or on besides the previously stated with good results. Such as will it bond to rock or other things and not flake of into the tank.

It should bond to rocks since they are porous but im not sure about glass..ive used it to paint metal and it stuck very well..ill try it with the can of red i have here at work and get back to you
