Krylon fusion a few quistions thanks guys

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I also have used it to paint rocks black to blend in with decor as I stated let it dry one week as they recommend multiple coats, you should have no problem why keep beating a dead Horse????

I always use it to paint my backgrounds and it sticks really well to glass, but can't tell you how it would hold up underwater in this manner.

I never used it underwater, but I used Krylon H2O to paint styrofoam for backgrounds and what not. It's the only spray paint I could find that explicitly said it could be used on styrofoam.

It should bond to rocks since they are porous but im not sure about glass..ive used it to paint metal and it stuck very well..ill try it with the can of red i have here at work and get back to you

Thanks for the reply. I feel ya i have a couple cans of fusion white left from a scooter build i did that im never going to use for any thing so im going to paint some different matterials with it and check the results.

I would use a 220 sand paper and dull the gloss finish from the outside of the bottle before painting. Glass is still a porous surface and it should adhere without a problem. But sanding the surface will give it more ridge detail to adhere to and you should not have a problem at all.

Just Googled Krylon Fushion and this is what they have on their website about glass preparation.

For use with Wood, Metal, Wicker, Plastic, Glass, Craft Foam, Plaster, Ceramic, Paper, Paper Mache. When working with glass or ceramic

Lightly sand with fine grain sandpaper so that surface will not be slick – this allows paint to adhere better. Wipe clean with a tack cloth. Apply a primer to further improve adhesion (glass will no longer be transparent if a primer is used).

I dont think it will bond well to glass for the simple reason that silicone works awsome on glass but it about useless to use on plastic. So in principal some thing that bonds to plastic probaully wont bond to glass makes sence in my head atleast. Going to paint a bottle tommorrow let it cure for a week and put it in a bucket full of water for awhile and c if it comes of just to try because i have a cool empty tequila bottle that is shaped like a tommy gun have thought about using it in a tank for awhile. will post results latter on in another thread

With logic like that; How can you argue?
