L-18 Gold Nugget

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
GN are very nice Plecs.

They need slightly warmer temps (28*C) and like a good current/water flow, to grow properly.

I think from what I've seen they are an average of $30-40
Regarding rarity, they aren't as rare as they used to be a few years ago

Here is my L18 at 8". I have it in my 400 gallon Pleco tank. When I got this 8 years ago, he was 1.5".

Wow that guy looks great. Any more pictures? unfortanetly the lfs didnt get any in so I bought an L200 green phantom at the auction. Im still contemplating buying one of these online. Are they typically slower or quick growers?

My L18 just passed yesterday and I can't figure out why. This is the second one that I have had and they both have died. It was about 2" and happened all of a sudden. My clown, bn and pitbull plecos are still looking good and very active. It wasn't even attacked so I can't blame that and water parameters seem fine. My ph is about 7.5 but everything else seems ok. Tank is 90g and up for about 2 months. Maybe I will get some co2 and wait about 6 months and try again. I really want the gn but I won't get another until I know everything is perfect for it.

I actually just bought a green phantom last weekend for $35 at about 4-5inches. I would live to find a blue phantom.
What kind of plecos are you currently keeping since you say you got rid of your gold nugget?

My blue phantom died today. And I have no idea why. Very upsetting.
