L114 Info

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok good to know. I was hoping to set up a 180 for my current fish now. I’m in the same boat with my plans being on hold but with that said a 125 being 18” wide would not be sufficient for an adult L114 is what you’re saying?

As a growout tank its great. Once it hits adulthood it's like watching a bulky armored fish akward turn and move. For now for few years it's fine. You got time before it gets to that size anyways

Right I’ve heard they are slow growers, like most plecos. I’m going to do my best to get a 180 going by spring or summer that would definitely make a great home for my L200 and L114, also my Geophagus. Kind of a dream tank for me! I will say watching my L114 eating Tilapia was really cool last night.

Get some pics. Show that bad boy off.
I was going to go with the L114 but I had a chance at a L014 so I went with it instead.

I did my best at a shot for the Leopard Cactus. L014 are amazing fish as well, I saw a few when I picked up the L114. Also my Geophagus Pellegrini and L200. I’ll have to spend a few hours by the tank and get some more of the L114.

Love the phantom! Does it stay out much?
I had one but he stayed hid all the time. Never saw it unless I purposely ran him out of his cave.

A couple times a day he swims around a bit and rasps on the driftwood often, I see him quite a bit actually. I never did until I got some new lighting and have adjusted it to be pretty dim and created a lot of shadows around the tank.
