Considering picking one up at 2" but need to grow it out first. I have a 30G full of cories and tetras and was wondering if I could keep the little guy in this tank till he's big enough (maybe 4") to go into one of the larger tanks. I know they need their own territory especially when bigger, do you think it'll attack the cories in the 30G? Also I know it's carnivorous so what would you guys recommend feeding it, I was thinking Hikari sinking carnivore pellets and bloodworms. Thanks in advance guys!

they will stake out a territory and defend it. I feed mine market shrimp, smelt, meat wafers(ken's) and Hikari "sinking" gold ( compare against carnivore pellets) and its less expensive. no aggresivness to other fish except when eating or defending it's space.

You may want to put your L114 in a quarrantine tank first (and have some API General Cure handy, speaking from experience... see:

My 4 L114s have finally aclimated. They like earthworm sticks, New Life Spectrum pellets, hikari wafers, blood worms and blackworms. They also seem to like the fibers from the coconut husk cave, but won't touch any other veggies (no interest in zuchinni, sweet potato or carrots).

Thanks I actually picked it up from an LFS and it's been there for a week or two already. I just came home with it. Pics soon.

I have an 11 inch one that I feed NLS 3 mm sinking pellets and tetramin color bits he will not touch veggies at all. I know some feed market shrimp but when I did my pleco got sunken eyes and I almost lost him. Very cool pleco espicially when large slow growers but worth the wait. Will hide a lot as a juvie but very out going as an adult. Can take care of itself very well.

Quick question to you guys, how can you differentiate L114 juvies to L600 juvies? A friend of mine said mine reminded him of a L600 juvie because of the lack of spotting on the tail but planetcatfish has pics of juvie L114s w/o spotting on the tail as well. Anyone have input on this matter?

From http://www.planetcatfish.com/shanes...e=Breeding+Pseudacanthicus+leopardus:

It's worth noting that in addition to the differences in the markings of the tail there are some further differences in the appearance of the fish. The individuals classified as L114 have more "refined" looks and either grow more slowly than the L600s or have a smaller TL size. The individuals classified as L600 are on the main a broader, much more robust fish by comparison, and they bear a striking resemblance to Pseudacanthicus spinosus (L160) in all but the colour.

Cool, interesting info. Anyone know what kind of growth rate I can expect? The tank gets w/c's sometimes twice a week and he's feeding on sinking pellets, blood worms, and occasional MP treat. He's about 2-3" right now.

I have one that started about 3.5 inches in December, and it is now about 4.5 inches. The other 3 in the tank don't seem to have grown as much, though they started around 2.5 and are now maybe about 3 inches.
