So back a couple of months ago I got a L14 pleco. For the most part he would hang out on the bottom and come out during feeding time. Recently he's being sucking on the glass and hanging out near the middle of the tank, keep in mind this guy usually stays ont he bottom. Also I see him munching on pellets, but his stomach doesn't seem as full as usual. if anything his stomach seems flat. physically he looks good. anybody?

How long does it stay on the glass? And what brand name pellets are you feeding it? And last what it tank mates?

it is probably fine. I had a really nice 12 inch male a while ago that was doing great. Out of now where he started sucking on the glass and the algae magnet. I loss him soon after. Though he always had a very hard time keeping weight on.

How big are the plecos ? What's your tank footprint ? I always get nervous when a Pleco stops hiding . I'd rearrange the decor and create more hiding spots , make sure he's eating , provide some fresh food .

Maybe it the runt of the group of L114s and getting chase out, if it hanging on the wall a lot and not eating well you have a problem even tho you see it eat starvation + stress will kill plecos quick. Move it to another tank if the a option.

When it hanging on the wall doe it swim away when it see you get near it or doe it still stay at that spot?

Its actually the alpha of the L14 group. Its big and bulky solid 3", all the other guys are 2". Sometimes it swims away, sometimes it just hangs out. looks like things are normal, the stomach is full.

I refuse to buy any Pleco under 4".
Too fragile .. What's his poop look like ?

Stress will kill a small Pleco fast , keep lights off and if high traffic area . Try placing carb board on viewing panel ?
