L24, L25 are both non-importable ANYWHERE outside to Brazil... but not to the US.... you can still get them.. but the price isn't gonna be pretty.. their overpriced because of the banned from import on them...

just do a google search on Pleco banned list.. and you'll see a whole list of species... I'll be surprise if ur LFS can get it.. since their demand are so high.. and most dont make it to the US.. their immediately send to Asian countries..

make sure their the REAL flame pleco L24.. and not L-114s which are leopard catus pleco..... i've seen scams where people buy one and its the wrong fish.

sorry just felt like doing that

no idea im not good with plecos

Just cause I don't have a ton of posts on here doesn't mean I don't know my stuff or google. But thanks...

I have a list of the pleco ban guess I just mis-read it. I work with the LFS on their shipment days, I'm in WA so prices on pleco's in general are not nice to ones wallet. I'll make sure to do a double check, I've caught a couple rip-offs from vendors already. Thanks for the info

It is illegal to export them from Brazil, not illegal to import them. The only person committing an offence is the person taking them out of Brazil. The main reason due to the inflated prices are that the exporters are risking very large fines and imprisonment.

Doubt very much that is a true L-24. Like was said probally an L-114 which are not on the ban list. Keep us posted I'am sure a lot of members including myself would love to get their hands on a true L-24---- flame cactus pleco. Check them out on planetcatfish.

I'll bring the camera and take some pics, they hold new fish for 10 days before sale to guarentee health n feeding. That way we can get a good id on them.

Alright well I'm positive it's not an L24 that they got in, but it also doesn't look like an L114. I am trying to get my fawkin camera to let me post pics but it is being dumb with my new program. The pleco has a orange and black stripe pattern on its' fins. So I was kinda thinking an Orange Seam pleco (can't remember the L number).
