- Can they get along with L14? Will they kill L14 in a fight? 180 gallon tank setup. My biggest concern is that if the L25 meets the L14 the L25 will kill the L14.

- Average price?
- What size do they usually come in? Are babies ever imported?
- If there is a ban, how come I occasionally see them for sale on aquabid?

I lost each of each as a result.. no matter what size... they do not get along!
Lost a 5" L-14 to a 7" L-114, and lost the 7" L-114 from stress to a 12" L-14..
L-25 is a similar species to L-114 and should avoid keeping the two species together..

L-25 L-114 are large growing pseudas/ L-14 is a scooby-hypan I think correct me on this boys. Anyway they do not play nice. Have had a 4 inch -114 kill an 11 inchL-25/ I keep an L-114 now who is 11 inches and would not trust him with any bottum dweller. He is in a 100 gallon with some redhook silver dollars which he ignores. I do have a 5 inch albino b/n that has been with the L-114 since he was 1 inch and oddly they do hang out together. Ihave tried to introduce othe plecos to this tank but the L-114 WILL not have it. You will be better off keeping them in seperate tanks. I have seen little 3 inch L-25's on aquabid sometimes but these guys will hide al the time at that size.

I wouldn't mix pseudas with any other plecos except pseudas, but that's my opinion. I have kept L25 with L114, L273 and LDA105 in the past with no problems.
3-4" L25's are imported quite often, and anything under $150 ea. is questionable, especially from a LFS. Make sure you confirm identity (not hard to misidentify an L25) before you lay your money down. If you do land them at 60-$75, buy up everything you see, and then order more.
As to why you see them occasionally even though they're on the ban list (along with basically every cool pseuda and hypan), they are illegal to export out of BRAZIL. They are not, however, illegal to export out of neighbouring countries. In a nutshell, if there's a will, there's a way.
I have 2 x L14's with pseudas right now. The L14's are 12 & 10" and the pseudas are a range of size from 2"-6" L114's and L320's. No real fights, except amongst the pseudas.
