L260 Queen Arabesque ?

I'm not a novice, hardly an expert.... but I know there are several pleco species with similar patterns as L260. Size, body shape, and especially location where they're collected, distinguish some of them. In some cases multiple L numbers are believed or suspected to be the same species. From what I've seen, in some species brown/yellow vs black/white varies. Could be a combination of things like age, mood (often the case with some fish), what they're eating, water parameters, etc.

Like I say I've had several L260s, including some wild. Mine have varied slightly in pattern, color, or how bold or defined the squiggles are, but not size. Also, yours has a longer, sleeker body profile than L260s I've had. If I had to guess, yours looks closer to L66, 333 (which may the same fish) or something similar. But who knows, with hundreds of species of 'plecos' out there in nature, could be one I'm not familiar with or not identified in the hobby?

For differences of 333 and 66 there are a couple of distinguishing features to look at.

the shape of the fork in the tail, theLength of the tail filaments, the distance from the dorsal fin to the tail fin, the slope of the head profile, and some say the bad on top of their head varies in color...I wouldn’t be confident enough to identify the difference between the two, I just done a lot of reading on how other people tell the difference.

no where seems to mention how to tell if it is a hybrid of the two. even though it’s well knowN they can and do cross.

Ya that's what I wasnt sure of.. if they can cross breed or not... but would make sense if it was a cross of 2 or something completely different all together
