L264 die. Why?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
its near impossible to say from the after pictures. Your tank is really warm so that fish is going to decompose really fast. All that bloat could very well be post mortem.

Also prolonged 89 degrees maybe too warm for that fish.

Is your temperature 89 from room temperature or from heater? I guess if it's from room temperature, there is nothing much you can do. At that temperature, fish are much more sensitive to water quality. Ammonia and nitrite are much more toxic at higher temperatures. Keep up with the water changes and aerate as much as possible.

In the usual temperature ranges, that amount of salt is ok for your tank, all my plecos and even clown loaches tolerated those concentrations with no problem up to 92 when I had a very bad ich breakout while back (my tank usually runs at 79). Since you are running a higher temperature on a regular basis, perhaps use half. Premix with tank water and slowly add into the tank. When you do water changes, add salt per the amount of water replaced. We are doing this as a preventative measure, so half should be ok, unless you see symptoms with other fish.

another thing to keep in mind the warmer the tank the less oxygen there is in the water. So depending on your stock, organics and aeration you could also be running into low oxygen situations.

Thank you all,
I add the salt. Today I'll replace 50% water again and add more salt.
The regular room temperature (for this time of year) is about 29-31c (84-86 f). Yesterday when I check, it was 32c.
I know that high temperature request high oxygen. I use 2 powerful air pumps.

Also prolonged 89 degrees maybe too warm for that fish.
Do you think that the high temperature kill it?

Bloat forsure, I've had this happen to my plecos, what you need to do is do a big waterhange, take out any activated carbon ammonia remover ect..., turn hear up to 80/82, treat with prazipro. Good luck man, I hope none of your other fish die from it, as I lost 7 fish from it.

TBH dont use carbon AT all. i tell all my fishkeeping friends this. Its 100% pointless using carbon of any brand unless u intend to change it every week. You can keep the bags or what have you in your filter for months, but essentially after the first week you added it, it has stopped working and is just taking up space in your filter you coulda used for something else. Under most normal circumstances, not using carbon is totally fine.

I had one for almost 2 years. I moved from a condo to a house, 5 miles away. I had this in a 5 gallon bucket with other fish, and this was the only fish I lost (found it floating the next morning). I even had a cory in the drained tank, and didn't discover it (cory) until I got to the new house about 2 hours later- it was fine.

Bloated for sure. You can't do anything , there is no medic.for that..
Fish geting this internal parasites from bad water condition...trust me,
about 2weeks ago it happened to me same sh.. with same Joselimai..3 die and I try everything..
Salt, Tremazol-internal parasites and many more..no chance!
