You talking about a 3 beacon pleco? This is a carnivore. I fed mine shrimp flakes and he devoured them. . Twice a week I gave him a salad shrimp. Gotta watch salad shrimp as they can foul water quickly. He never touched algae wafers or any veggies.

Like everyone else said try more meaty food. Earthworm sticks, etc. Mine eat just about anything, but prefer meaty foods.

If you just feed straight protein you will run into digestive problems. What kind of condition is this fish in? (sunken eyes or stomach?) Pics?

My bad! This fish is an omnivore not carnivore as I thought. Mine would not touch veggies at all though.
