So in that case, you shouldnt feed your aro crickets. We have live crickets at Petco, and let me tell you. They are dirty and gross little suckers. We have soooooooooooo many die. The live ones then start eating the dead ones. We have to clean out the tanks every day because they are so dirty, gross and disgusting. Stay away from crickets guy.

the only reason they die is because their is insuficient food so they either starve or eat each other

loach43 None of the links you posted contains information on whether or not LB could be fed to an aro. All it says there is that they secrete blood when theratened. You'd need to find out whether or not it is poisonous to fish, otherwise there is no point.

Here is a link that says they are distasteful but does not say they are a threat.

All I know is my fish ate them, a lot of them. Mostly when younger when such a thing would have probably been more dangerious. I don't think it is a risk but if none of you want to do it I understand completely. I was afraid to feed my fish wasps at first, till they caught their own and nothing happened.

Benfica...that is the most retarded thing I have ever heard. Crickets don't carry ich, fin rot, dropsy, anchor worms or any of the other parasites and disease fish can get. Wild one are risky due to chemicals like pesticides but the ones in the LFS don't have that one them.

When I first got my oscar it was when I was at college and the place was overrun with ladybugs. My fish ate a lot of ladybigs with no ill effect and as long as i have been killing the things I have yet to see (or smell) any kind of dnagerious secretion.

Ha ha ha .....lol Sandtiger !

Howdy,

I am sure you mean well, but you lack better judgement. As stated above, diseases and parasite are not spread from insects to fish. Thus, crickets are perfectly safe to feed. Secondly, the crickets at PetCo are not high quality. They've been shipped from the farm to probably a central wholesaler and then to Petco. Not a lot of fun for the crickets. They get crushed and dehydrated and are kept in an overcrowded space.

Crickets are great fish food, but get them e.g. at Worm Man's Worm Farm online. They're much better quality and a lot cheaper, too!

ps

finsandfangs, if you did a search before you post a question, then this place wouldn't get this crowded: ;) ;) ;)
