lake near you ???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Man made lake in my development at home in Gettysburg. Not huge about a 5 mile diameter. Enough for some fishing and waterskiing/tubing. Off my dock, caught wall-eyes, lmb, smb.

Lot of sun fish/ blue gill and the lake has been invaded by white perch. Every year they have a perch fishing contest, basicaly the community just give you money per lb of perch and they take the fish and use it as fertilizer. Poor fish... Provides free fish food for my fish though.

The best fishing I get though is about 20 minutes away. Friend owns a fruit company and they have a private irrigation pond in one of the orcahrds. Noone fishes it but us basically. Evyertime we go between the two of us we caught about 20 lmb good size lmb in a span of two hours. HUGE sunnies there two, and a couple large kois that were abanadaned (havent caught one yet though)

We also mostly caught and release, which helps the pond population.

Only thing I usually keep is perch.

Lake thats a block away from me is terrible. Couldnt fathom a worse lake . It has only sunfish , channel catfish and turtles ,sometimes small gators. huge lake with nothing bigger than few inches in it (channel cats are big).
Its spotless crystal clear water yet easily worse lake to fish in ALL of S.Florida.

As fishing goes if you like bass its a complete zero and you can only catch so many sunfish before you lose interest .
The lakes 5 minute drive away are way better and the canals blow them all away (I like fishing cichlids lol).

My favorite lake fishing is for Kokanee, they are some of the best tasting fish there are.

These are from Paulina Lake. It's not all that close (3 hours' drive) but it's worth the drive.

lol wow some catch and HUGE lake.

my budy caught a 17 inch crappie spring bass fishing on a husky jerk out of a lake thats like 3-5 mins away, he has pics, i dont have any here at my house tho

I puuled up a awesome 19" lmb from the nyc water supply resevoir near here.he was really fat wish I had weighed it.

Last summer my son pulled up a tiger trout from the cobleskill town resevoir.not that big about 15" but it fought like a beast!

Same pond we pulled up a 12" pumpkinseed that was maybe the prettiest fish I ever saw.Amazing color to it!

It is a pretty big lake, about 1,500 acres. For a natural lake it's very big, but we have several reservoirs that are over 30,000 acres.

We caught nine Kokanee that day, my father-in-law caught 5 as well as the four I caught.

This pond is about 3/4 of a mile up the road. I've seen a couple pretty big bass come out of it, but I haven't caught anything over two pounds.
