Java moss looks messy to me, but you could try it.

I got some 5x3" mats from my LFS for $8 each and cut them in half. After rubber-banding them to flat rocks, they seem to hold up well (no uprooting issues) and with your lighting they will grow nicely. They're thick so they would be best used against the glass. Check out some potted Anubius for the center.
