Hahahaha, the title of this thread made me laugh. I live in a town right at the edge of lake ontario, darlington power plant is about 2000 meters from the peir, and everyone has always dissed the lake. I fished from that peir once, would actually love to again. There are some nice fish...I would never, EVER eat anything from that lake, mind you - especially THIS area of it. Oh yes, people do.

They might be "safe" now in moderation but I also would not eat them. I only eat Miami canal fish lol kidding.
NY has done a lot to clean up its act in last 10 yrs as far as nature goes.

Can't be any worse than smoking cigs I eat fish from lake erie all the time, not very scared. If eating lake fish takes me out so be it same with playing outside in the sun. I always find it funny to see a guy around here smoking a cig and cleaning a fish and only takes the back strap because he is scared murcury and pcb will kill him. LOL
thats true... but that mercury can really build up in the body and you may live but have less ability to think...
