Weird change of behavior. What happens when you stick your hand in the aquarium for water change? Does the aro goes into the corner and sits still? or does it goes completely berzerk?

He just hangs out at the other end of the tank. I was messing around earlier from behind the tank and he swam around, but I think it was because he didn't see me. Last night he swam around as I was sitting in front of the tank, and the moment I moved he darted to the other end of the tank behind the blanket.
I guess I don't really understand the whole blanket thing. Why is there a blanket on the tank? Aros usually don't need places to hide there surface fish to begin with. Sounds like IMO the blanket is the reason he so skittish. Anyone comes into the room and he just goes behind it? Therefore never getting used to people being around the tank? Just my opinion.
do not get a jardini it will make matters alot worse go take the blanket down sit in front of the tank when he gets use to you he will swim by real slow checking you out next day fix that filter. (you can do it!!!!)
My lights bad on my tank a while ago, and I haven't had a chance to get new ones. So for now there's a 4' strip on my tank. I just threw the blanket on there to give him some cover since I can't keep plants alive without the 8' light strip. I took it off now,and he's pretty upset with nothing to hide behind 
sometimes weird things spook fish. I took pictures of My MBUNA cichlid tank and they hid everytime i come in the room now. Before they were very freindly and followed me to whichever side of the room i am on. I hope they become freindly again...... already a week and a half of them being scared.
Do you have any children? I caught my 8 year old son and his friends spooking my Africans by rushing their hands at them. They would hide when I came in the room til I figured this out.
