Landscape supplies sand?

Hi all

Is it safe to use this type of sand in my 6'. It is way cheaper than 3M stuff I am pretty sure, and I can get this sand easier. I want to know whether this sand, which has been collected at a beach, is compacting, or non-compacting like silica sand.

Plus, is it sharp as to cut the mouth of geopahgus etc.?

Not sure. Haven't been down to look at the sand. We'll just say it's sandpit type sand.

i would go with the 3M color quarts any day...

then use pool filter sand or play sand.

pool filter sand is best. second to that, play sand. other types of sand, including building supplies sand for pavers contain chemicals which are harmful

in the US its around $10 for 50lbs or so. I have seen it come in a white color like marine sand or a light brown color. its all pretty much the same thing. do you have leslie's pool supply store over there?
