!!! MIKE HAS ORNATES??? !!!

i'd say if you wan't it try and get it that the only lap i've seen in colorado but that is high but so are all of mikes fish but he has little competition

in general, we don't have too many bichirs and they all seem a little high-priced.

no, he doesn't, but, yeah, all his fish seem a little on the high side, but they're all really nice. the 6" ornate that i lost i found at d&g in fort collins (paid 40). the one i have now came from Animal Attraction in Greeley. I'm going there tomorrow, so I'll let you know if they have any left. They were asking $70 but I got mine for $60. The others were about 10" at the time. I saw one other ornate at premier fish & reef that was about 12 or 13" for $100.

is $100 okay for a 10" lap? mike's killer fish has some. what about $50 for an 8" albino sen? i'm pretty new to bichirs that aren't regular sens and have never seen anything in stores other than what mike has or ornates and sens. i'm not really intested in albino fish, j/w about that one.

I went to buy the "8 inch" albino about a week ago. Let's just say I passed because the size if this fish was exaggerated. I could be wrong, but I was quite dissapointed when I saw it. Oh yeah, and the in-store price is $60.

Our choices of Bichirs in CO are limited and pricey. I bought a small Ornate at Premier Fish and Reef for probably twice as much as other people can get them for.

ahh. i don't really care for albino fish, so i wasn't really interested in it, j/w on the price. I thought the 10" lima i got from there was exaggerated, but when i got it home, i realized it was probably close (closer to 9" in my estimation). hopefully, ill be able to find something, but i may end up getting the lap.

cool i'll look into those places i can't find polys any where and yeah mikes fish are pricey but still worth it

also whats D&G is it the name of the store or short for something ?

i went to Animal Attraction and they had two of the ornates left, but the larger one was sold. the one left was probably 10-11" and they were still asking $70. looked to me like they hadn't gotten a new order in since before Christmas when I got mine. i was really tempted to get one of the scombs, but I knew I shouldn't (need to hold out for a tat if i really want a payara). i'm hoping to get to some places this week and if I don't find anything, I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick up that Lap if it's still available.

70 bucks is nothing compared to the $140.00 price tag on the no more than 11 inch ornate at my lfs! Needless to say that fish will be there a while!!!
:D

i forgot to answer about D&G. It is called D&G Pets (used to be Aquatics). stands for Dee and Gary (the owners). It's by Kohl's, Silvermine, etc. off of E Harmony.

Seems like bichirs are practically free in CA but the rest of us have to suffer through ridiculous price tags to get them :(. I did get my lap for $15....it was a turn in and the stupid LFS didn't know what it was. It was labeled as a senegal. :)
