Lapradei has red lines in its fins?

Recently got a 3½in Lapradei and the day after bringing him home a thin red vein like line appeared on his front left fin and then another on his right. I did a water change and added salt but they are still present, is this a bacterial infection of some sort like septicemia or am I just being paranoid?

It could be septicemia. Is the tank cycled? What's the ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite reading (using a liquid test)?

Yes the tank is cycled and been running 3 months now, I've had a senegal, delhezi, and 2 ornates and recently got an endlicheri and the lapradei who is the only one with the red lines through his fins. I'm not using a liquid test kit I only have API test strips right now but I can get one today. The strips are reading that nitrate and nitrite are 0, and ammonia in between 0 and 0.5. I'll do another 30% water change and hopefully that helps. What medication should I be getting incase it doesn't?

What have u been feeding? Get some pics. I’d recommend maracyn2, triple sulfa and kanamycin.

I've been feeding them Hikari sinking carnivore pellets. The red lines are really skinny and after doing some more research I'm not sure if it fits the description of septicemia but I wasn't able to find anything specific to bichirs so I could be wrong. Maybe old fin slits healing up? I'm not sure20210831_182424.jpg20210831_174516.jpg20210831_181412.jpg

Doesn’t look like septicemia. Hold on meds. Would keep up on the water changes.

Okay I'll continue with water changes daily until it goes away. I will update when he gets better or if they seem to get worse. Thank you for the help, very appreciated
