prepping up for some downtime and wondering if i should rescape my tank. right now it's planted and with small pebbles as substrate (probably not a good idea anymore, and was originally an arowana tank until i got hooked with poly's). maybe a total tank cleaning and change the substrate to sand... and add more poly's bwahaha!

Go with sand mate!

I prefer Black. Brings out the greens!

Though I also keep Bichirs in Crushed Garnet sand. Brings out the contrast.

thanks for the tip @tokyogasmask.

hmm although I doubt if i could get crush garnet sand over here, will river sand be ok? i have used sand before but it was white and with my planted nano. this will be the first experiment with the bigs

The garnet sand is incredibly heavy and is a kind of red color.
There are similar stuff out there too. I think 3M are supposed to have good similar sand.
