had my laps for 3 weeks now and they havent eaten anything. there both around 8-12 inches. ive tried shrimp, bloodworms, sinking pellets, meal worms, earthworms, feeders, fish everything, what can i do say they can eat, dont want them to die

IME, laps don't respond well to tank changes, but all they need is time.

People who keep polypterus call this a 'hunger strike', in your case it's a stress response due to being moved.

When I first got them as wild caught nigerians, they were super skinny and it took about a month just to get them eating shrimp, then several months more to get them off of shrimp and onto pellets.

Your fish will not starve to death, they're not that dumb.

I've been through some of these too. When I moved the tanks, the other three laps I have weren't eating either. But now they're taking pellets again.

What's your setup like? Do you have bright lights? Any hiding spots? What kind of fish are you keeping with the laps?

There's some factor keeping the fish stressed longer than they should be.

totally normal for laps mine goes MONTHS without eating sometimes. Try dimming the lights and increasing the temp over 80 that seems to get them hungry

I agree with cenecker, higher temps will get their appetite going.

If you get a chance to answer the other questions I posted, it would help us figure out why the laps are stressing.

I have a Lap I bought in april that I swear still hasn't eaten. lol. My new Lap hasn't eaten for me yet but it's only been days... The only reason your fish wouldn't eat would be from sickness. I have just been tossing food in at night and turning out the lights and just clean up what they leave in the morning... I just assume they all eat cause they all FAT and healthy...

well my setup right now is a 150 60x24x24 i have a piece of driftwood in the middle with hiding spots where they usually stay at. its barebottom do water changes every 3 to 4 days. i have 2 bass with them a 5inch jar a 5inch dat 7inch senegal and a 8inch ornate

my senegal and ornate go crazy when i drop shrimp, silversides and sometimes feeders but these guys wont budge but i guess i see that is common with others
