I’m thinking of getting rid of my 220 and 125 and upgrading to just one big tank. Maybe 8ft x3ft x31in or so. Not sure what that would work out gallon wise but it’s basically the size of the space I’m trying to fill. Either way I’d definitely be going with acrylic, but I’m unsure of where to start looking for these larger aquarium manufacturers or sellers. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good and relatively affordable options? I figured this site is the perfect place to get recommendations. I’d definitely feel better going into such a big purchase with some confidence the company is legit.

Envision Acrylics and Midwest Custom Aquariums. It seems the latter only uses Reynolds so thicker colored panels aren't available. Instead, they paint the back of the tanks like something you got at a garage sale. I'm likely going with Envision.

Allot of us used midwest customs and were really satisfied. Great customer service and the tank is built like brick house.

One peace of advice is carefully plan out your filtration before you order.

Are yoyou sure about this ? I ordered from them a couple of yrs ago and was able to choose between a painted backround or a solid colored one. I ended up doing a 3-d backround which i hate lol

Midwest is currently building me a 300 with 3/4" sides.
Chris said the back panel will need to be painted because black acrylic isn't available in 3/4" stock.

That settles it for me, not going to do a 3D Background in my next build. I teeter back and forth about whether I will like it long term. Would be a PIA to have to rip it out with fish.

What don't you like about your 3D background?

Idk its nice and all i think i just like the look of a simple black backround. I had chris install mine it looks nice just a preference thing. I kind of think for my fish they looked better with a solid black round. Bichirs patterns just do better with it. As for the cats and cichlids its fine.

TexasMFK31 TexasMFK31 definitely something to consider

I ordered my 450 from tyd pool marine, they were one of the only ones to coordinate shipping to Alaska. The tank is very solid. My only complaint is the covers which he really skimped on and only used 1/8 inch otherwise I am very satisfied
