Large aimara

Someone on Facebook shared some pics of a large aimara they caught so I wanted to pass along. He measure this monster at 36lbs. He didn’t take an accurate length measurement but said it was probably close to 1.3m/50in. The third pic makes me a little skeptical though.

What’s the largest verified aimara on MFK? I’m guessing fc3’s which is 32-34in. I think there was someone before that had one past 36in though.

What group on FB was that posted in? I have seen the pics via google but never commentary about the weight. That is just insane.

There was a guy in Suriname on FB claiming he can get folks 3ft aimara if they want them. He posted a pic of a 28in one he has currently for sale. Just not sure how legit the guy is.

Well there's the guy that had that large aimara in a tank with the arapaima, cats, tarpon etc. think he said it was like 80lbs.

Neither fish look 50" imo. Comparing them to the guys. Unless the guys are like 6'5 lol

Agreed. Unfortunately spoke measure weight and not length. If you compare to that chart that was posted relating length/weight ratios, the aimara has to be pretty long to weight 36lbs, 3ft won’t cut it.

I think roughly 60 pounds is about the limit for these guys, 50 lbs isn't the biggest caught lol

This fish looks legit 30lb ++ it looks like it could eat his thigh for dinner!
