Large Armatus in a 240.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think I need to break down and get a new powerhead, the main one I use doesnt seem to be blowing much current anymore, even with the new impellar I installed. I guess thats what happens after running non stop for about 5 years.

no powerheads, happy armatus. :D

Actually he seems exactly the same without the extra powerhead (took it out once I knew it wasnt making the full current anymore). So right now hes only got the small one running until I can run out tomorrow and pick up a new one. Im thinking ill just grab the biggest one I can get so I wont need to buy another when its time to upgrade later this summer.

Let me know which ones you decide on.

Those 2 power heads were a no name. So not sure if i should ignore that deal and pay the extra money for hydro ones.

I saw a photo of an Armatus on this forum with the most amazing fins i ever seen it really got me thinking. that fish looked happy.
I got sides of the tank with black background. The issue only happens during times when the sunlight comes into his room.
I was thinking to just cover the whole tank and uncover only when i am feeding or hanging out observing him? Any ideas for when he is swimming up and down the glass?
Thanks in advance i would appreciate it very much!

Saw the bad boy for sale too. It's cool that you snagged it. Ya, the current contributes to long flowing fins.

Thanks, I installed a pump in the tank for flow after getting this guy. I keep looking at pictures of others and dont see to much difference, it seems like all the other pics the dorsal fin is curled up as in my second pic, making it look alot different. Also the picture quality is much better in the first one, these pics were taken about 3 weeks apart.

the fins remind me of the ones from those fancy gold fish.

I bought that two in one 3200 powerhead, it works pretty good for me. The only negative feed back I have is that the thing it attaches too is not strong enough to hold the powerhead in place. If put on the top of the tank the powerhead will end up pointing down. I have mine on the bottom of the tank so its resting against the bottom.
