Large Arow and med ST's (Tank Mates?)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A shoal of silver dollars, no doubt for me....

Not to derail but you sure those are STs? I don't believe it's possible to have 6'' ones at this time. Any living STs would be older, as they're not yet bred in captivity to my knowledge.

Anyway, I'd say get more than one IT. And get them at like the same size as the ST. Get like 3+ of them in addition to your 2 that are in there and you'll have a good sized aggression-spreading group.

Nice aro but honestly he is too big for your 5x2x2 and also I still see two 3bar ITs in there as I can see a faint bar/spot between the 2 bars on both of them which will never be the case on a ST or CT (unless they are shadows somehow) and it is a pretty good indication of a 3 bar IT as they are just ITs with oddball patterns

Dither fish like silver dollar may help divert the aggression but I think the aro just needs more room

hate to burst your bubble.
they are indos. the small patch between the bars is one of many factors.

beautiful tank by the way.

Yes I realize that now. Can't seem to find anymore indos or widebars in las Vegas. I'm really not interested in the baby ATs that you normally find

Couple pics of my dats. I love them!!

Thank you! Is there a good way to wein them from shrimp to floating pellets? Everything else in my tank, even my plecs, go up to the top and eat them. So I want to have the entire tank on them. Hikari jumbo carnivore pellets

One way is starving. You stop feeding food A and only feed food B until they would eat food B, and if they still refuse after X # days you give in and feed food A just a little then resume the starvation. this can work for bigger and healthier fish

Another way other people suggested is to feed food A marinated with food B for a while, then slowly feed both foods mixed at the same time and slowly reduce the amount of food A and increase the amount of food B until they feed on food B alone, this can take a long time but is less devastating for your fish

I am sure others will chime in from their exp too good luck!

I love red hook silver dollars, or wide bar silver dollars. They are great dither fish and beautiful
