large catfish

Only handfed catfish I've ever seen were channel cats, but I think they'd be a bit too big for your tank...oh and common plecos but I don't think that's what you had in mind.

you can hand tame any type of fish but not any fish. Ive seen wild fish that will take food from your hand and Ive seen aquarium fish that will hide b4 you get within ten feet of the tank. Any catfish that will live in your size tank could work.

im thinking of having oscars how many would i be able to have

In a 6 foot tank the only real constriction with oscars is depth and height. Because that is a 1 1/2 foot tank, and oscars get 12-14 inches, I would say 3, maybe 4, if you had excellent filtration.

Gulpers you can get to hand feed, just got to make sure there are fish bigger then them and fish that won't pick on them.

unfortunately in an 18" deep tank you will not be able to house any large catfish. large meaning fish up 5'. and only bare minimum filtration with any catfish is a bad idea because catfish are waste producing machines.

I have a 200 gallon pond in the basement with a Rena XP3 and a power head. I do not have a problem keeping it clean. I do have to clean the filter and water change every ten days or so. I also have ID sharks that I hand feed in the pond. It took a while to teach them but this amost insures who is eating.
