on used tanks? how do they obtain used tanks?

Places will do a $1 a gallon sale once or twice a year. but I have never seen a tank over 75 gallons for $1 a gallon new. I've seen 2 $1 a gallon sales and all of them were $1 a gallon up to 75 and $2 a gallon from 75 up to 210-220.

I had to wait one time for a tank I ordered during one of these sales b/c they were selling so many tanks that they were telling me that All-glass couldn't keep up with the orders.

true, but petco runs the $1 per gallon deal more often.
My local Petcos have no big tanks in stock, they only go up to the 55g in stock with all other large tanks having to be special ordered. (And guess what my 5ft tank was not one of the choices!) All the coupons/emails I get from being in the P.A.L.S club only apply to in stock stuff.

I shop both stores, and really try not to favor one or the other, because when it come to fish info and knowledge they do not know much. They are a big box store just like a Costco, but for pets. I still buy all my equipment online, but I support my local shops when it comes to the fish. I get to see what I am buying and the shops are knowledgeable.

i buy my fish mostly from family owned pet stores because their fish looks healthier and they have alot of knowledge about the fish your buying. ohh and if your looking for big tanks try the family owned pet stores because they are way cheaper than petco or petsmart.

Not mine. All of the local shops were going to end up $150 more than what I spent. They all had to price out the individual items into the cost; the glass tops, lighting. One shop did not even bother to call me back when I was shopping, so my business ended up elsewhere. Which is a shame because that shop was closer to my home and I would have paid a little bit more so that I would not have to have driven an hour + to get my tank.

The warehouse pet stores really do have good pricing on those bigger items, just not as big of a selection.
