They grow fast as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Eat like kids

Had to give them up cause they were eating so damb much

G/L with your local hunt, should not be that hard to get some in SoCali

They're actually pretty hardy imo.. but you have to know not to keep them at high temp. I don't have a heater in my chinese perch tank at all. Other than that one at that size dying is just bad luck.
