I have a JD a little under a foot long and an Oscar a bit over a foot in separate tanks both with MTS. The Oscar never encounters the snails, I do have a pair of clown loaches and one is finally large enough that I think it is starting to eat snails. The JD constantly picks them up and crunches on them then just spits them out. The only reason it does this I am sure is it is trying to find the plecostomus's food. The thing acts like it is starving to death.
