I'm looking for suggestions for a large dither fish to put into my 220. I have my two 10-12" fire eels in the tank and want to get something that will be more free swimming. I love peacock bass but everything I've read suggests that there are no species that stay small enough for a 220.

So, I would like to hear what you guys have for suggestions. I would rather have one or two large fish rather than several smaller ones. Would like something that grows to bout 12-16". I would like a carnivorous fish, if possible, but I don't want it to be aggressive towards anything too big to fit into its mouth. And, if it looks like a peacock bass, that would be a huge plus.

Thoughts?

Thank you

Flagtail, they can get 20 inches plus.
Bala sharks, they can be 12"plus.
Tinfoil barbs another 12" plus fish.
My suggestions are based on what I have in my 220, they will be a peaceful fish and get along with your eel. The only issue with these fish would be the flagtails, having more than one in the same Tank could be problematic. But kept singularly they are peaceful.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I think after seeing those, I would like something that's a bit meatier of a fish and a bit slower of a swimmer. More of a constant slower swimmer. I've thought about an oscar or two but I'm not sure how it would end up with aggression.

I'm thinking I will check out my LFS and see if anything there catches my eye. However, I'm leaning a bit more towards an oscar or two. I like their shape pretty well. Are they fairly constant swimmers? Not necessarily super active, but more constant slower swimmers?

I really wish an arowana would fit, but again, I've read that they all get too big. Lol

Uaru or red spot severums maybe? Both would be eye catchers when full grown. Also fairly peaceful
