I'm actually really considering one of these sand divers. They look pretty awesome. To me, they look like they are shaped a bit more like bass, which I like. From the info I've read, they don't seem to be too aggressive either.
If you wanna go African check out Exocochromis Anagenys a little harder to find but they're active,predatory,nonagressive and pbass-ish...
Daves rare aquarium fish has em on their stock list but they're small. I've never ordered from them but have heard good things.
You could do quite a few in 220 gallons I think 6-10 would be ok depending on what you got already and if your like me and want room for impulse buys. I personally like to get at least 4 to have better chances at a pair or trio for breedingI may have to look into them. I still want to check out my LFS before I order anything online. I do really like those fish though.
