Large Dither for 220

zaccos. max around 7-8" and very active. but also
harder to get and more rarer than most dither fish.
 
just get the oscar, you have already subconsciously decided on it...

I'm actually really considering one of these sand divers. They look pretty awesome. To me, they look like they are shaped a bit more like bass, which I like. From the info I've read, they don't seem to be too aggressive either.

personally i would prefer red mammon or parrot fish with my fire eel
 
If you wanna go African check out Exocochromis Anagenys a little harder to find but they're active,predatory,nonagressive and pbass-ish...
 
Daves rare aquarium fish has em on their stock list but they're small. I've never ordered from them but have heard good things.

I may have to look into them. I still want to check out my LFS before I order anything online. I do really like those fish though.

If I go with the exo's, how many do you think I should go with for my 220?

You could do quite a few in 220 gallons I think 6-10 would be ok depending on what you got already and if your like me and want room for impulse buys. I personally like to get at least 4 to have better chances at a pair or trio for breeding
