I have been looking to set up my 75 gallon again and I want a nice large fish to put in there by itself... other than a bottom feeder and was wondering what cool large fish would be good in a 75? I was looking into getting a Tiger Oscar but just wanted to make sure there wasnt anything else that I might want instead. I was also looking at the Electric Blue Jack Dempsey but they dont get as big. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

buy it self is say and large SA/CA cichlid such a dovii or jag midas/red devil
or you could get a flower horn
oscars do get HLTH alot so if you do get one take good care of it :D

Get a flowerhorn. Specifically a Red Dragon- tons of personality, look good, lots of color. Check out flowerhornsfrombeyond.com Julie usually has some good stock.

It depends on what you want from the fish. I like to keep fish for their personability and how they interact with me. Because of that Oscars are my favorite. My Flowerhorn is a real personable fish but he got bigger faster than my Oscars so I wouldn't recommend one in a 75 g. He's still growing at a pretty fast rate. I got him at 3" 15 months ago and he's 14" now total (he's in a 150 g). With an Oscar even in a 75 g I bet you could slip a FeatherFin in there with him if you were diligent with big weekly water changes. They grow at the same rate so you could get them at the same time and let them grow up together.
