I wouldnt mind having another Tiger Shovelnose, but they never swim around unless the lights are off. I have never seen anyones tank with moonlighting or whatever it is called so that the nocturnal fish will swim around.
ya mine dont move very much as well unless it feeding time. they still look sweet tho and they get big

Spotted Gar
ya a spotted would look cool but if u have the money get a cuban gar or a tropical gar :naughty:

Aros, rays, juruense, tig, dats, perch, maybe crenicichla, geophagus, jag, p. sturio, Megalodoras urunoscopus (irwinii)... lots of possibilities. I'd like any combination of those.

from what i have seen they like to move a little more when bigger bc there is less places to hide and there not scared of nothing bc they will eat anything. well thats just what i have gathered from my buddy that is:grinyes:

The Tiger Shovelnose that I had was over 14", of course they get larger, but the only time he moved was when the lights were out. He never even moved to eat cause the feeders would swim in front of him then BAM, gone. Besides feeders, what else to you feed them?

shrimp. krill, beef heart, earth worms. all kinda stuff. i usually mixed it up eveery other day

So it must have swam around some to get that food right? Or did you happen to just drop it near him?
