Large Flow Pump

Hayward Super pump or Max-flo pump. High flow. I think it was 50 gal/min @ 20'. I use one, it's noisy and expensive to run, but cost only around $200.

edit: Plus, if you need a part, or if the the motor ever dies, you can probably get it locally. These are pool pumps.

Great Idea I was meandering this thought around in my head and thought wait a minute a pool pump. They even have parts at wal mart!

Electricity rates vary a lot from place to place. The average cost in the U.S. is $0.11 per KW/hour.

Check your power bill to see what rates are like where you are.

They vary big time. It's $0.075 here. Definitely check your bill or your power companies website.

I will be doing some pump shopping this weekend and I am also having some quotations done to drill and install overflows to handle the flow...

electric costs here are just over .10 kwh. So your electric cost will be about half of mine. If you're getting the pool pump, make sure it's the kind for an in-ground pool. They are self priming and can even pull water from 7' deep. I didn't even drill a hole in the sump, just ran the intake up and over the edge of sump.
