Large loaches lose colour?

Awesome article. After looking at my collection, I think it's about half borneo, half sumatra.

LOL is a great website and the article explains there are subtle differances in the same species when collected from differant regions....Like most fish look at pleco's for an example. But the differance in the red pelvic fin still doesn't explain the claim of two types of clowns that can grow to differant sizes or explain some clowns fading with time.

If you were Originally referring as far as size to the fact that some clowns are much taller than others. Most sources I have seen believe that is a distinguishing feature between a male and female clowns. whether there is truth to this or not I have no idea.

I thought it went into more detail about fading and linked them. I have not read it in awhile until now. Either way its an interesting article. I have heard the claim that height factors in on the sex to. It doesnt sound real logical to me but what do I know.

I've noticed some of my clown loaches seemingly taller than the others but I can't see any logical reasons in using it as a way to distinguish genders either.

wow glad this was posted - i was just about to ask the same of my loaches. the 2 smaller ones are vibrantly hued. but the big guy is fading and geting some spoltches of no colour in his stripes.
