Large mouth bass -am I stupid or ?

Alright guys, I read in a fishing magazine a while back that the person who can beat the world record for Large mouth bass (record set in 1970s, correct me if I am wrong) would get A TON OF $$$$$$$ and lots of sponsorship (which also equals $$$$) from various fishing tackle companies, etc.

So, is tthe below plan a stupid plan or ?

Get a large size pond, put large mouth bass in there, feed and take care of them diligently. Grow them past the worlds record, take them to a lake, hook it onto your fishing pole, and then tell all the fishing magazines.

Tell me why this will not work or will it? Many of the MFK's on here are very successful in growing their fish to beastly proportions.

I'm going to say, No, because records only count in competition and they have regulations and check up on you.

what are you talking about benz??? records dont only count in tourneys. records are broken averyday by fishermen all around the world fishing privatly, or on charter boats.

and the bass would have to be pregnant and ready to spill eggs. now you could catch the fish being caught on film in your own pond, thats better than an eye whittness, and submit it as a record!

and also youre way too late on this, i kno a few people with bass in privat ponds and reservoirs pushing 19-20lbs, just think when their pregnant.

go for it. i'm not sure it would work though. u should get Fl. strain bass from the kissimme chain in central florida. those bass grow huge and they grow fast.


i would love to see pics of 20+ lb. bass

I have actually had this idea before. It would probably work with a smaller species like a bluegill or bullhead and would probably get you the state record...probably not the world record though.

I think there was an article a few weeks ago on Fark.com where some guy brought a bass to a fishing tourney. He was caught, and he lost out on sponsorships and such. You might think it's okay because there's no harm done in cheating, but it's a matter of conciensce. Do you really want to live with that on your mind, knowing that you cheated?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Or maybe you don't care if it's dishonest, I'm just sayin'.
