I was wondering if there was any possibility of me being able to catch a large mouth bass and keep it in either a 55-75 gallon aquarium?
Are they fun to keep and what do they eat?\
How long could I keep it???
Moved this to the native forum. Be sure you check your local laws before catching native fish for an aquarium. Bass will eat almost anything, I trained mine to eat pellets.
I have two LMB a Small mouth, Hybrid Stripper, Crappie, and Channel Cat in a 180 all eating inexpensive Koi Pond Pellets, although it took a bit to get them adjusted. Still feed live about once a week just to keep them active....
They need at least a 6' tank, preferably at least 2' wide as they can get easily over 14"-16" long. One point I want to make is DO NOT GET ONE IF YOU CAN'T KEEP IT FOR LIFE, AND DEFINITELY DO NOT RELEASE A CAPTIVE ONE BACK INTO THE WILD.
