how big do they get?
what do i feed them.

can i keep one with 8koi, and a red ear slider(turtle)?
3000gallon outdoor pond

big...
anything... fish.flakes.shrimp.flys.
yes

They will be happy to eat pellets, if you use floating ones you can watch. They eat everything that fits in that huge mouth including birds, snakes and small turtles, 5-10 lbs are not that unusual but the biggest I have caught was 8 1/2 lbs on a live mouse. the record is around 3' and more than 20 lbs. just make sure the bass does not get to much bigger than the koi or turtle, if the slider is more than 8" it is pretty safe from even a 10 pounder. The bass in the picture is just over 15lbs

i think i'm going to pass on the black bass; i saw i GIANT on google.

oh yeah; this is kind of random but GIANT alligator gars kind of look like pirarucus...

You could try yellow perch or blue gills

hey new here this is my first post,

i have a question where do you get the bass, I mean where do u get them when they are small?? also what size tank do u need to keep them, and what are the basic requierments in keeping bass

You catch them....with a net, tiny hook or some other device ment to catch small fish. A sein works well but you normally need two people for that. You could also walk along the shore with a dip net or use a cast net. If you're lazy you can probably buy them at a local hatchery or online.

As for size, it depends on what sub-species you are keeping. Florida largemouths grow larger then Northern largemouths. Here is a decent link on keeping largemouths that you can read.

Hiya Sage, welcome to MFK. Minnow thaps work as well for 2-3" ones, check yor local laws for size limits and if they can be netted, 8-10" ones can be caught on lures and worms, use single bardless hooks and horse them in, don't play them, it stresses them more.

ANOTHER NEWBIE HERE. I HAVE HAD A SMALL MOUTH BASS IN MY 125 FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS . I CAUGHT HIM IN A LOCAL RIVER , ALONG WITH SEVERAL SUNFISH. HE WOULD NOT EAT AT FIRST ,BUT SOON STARTED EATING ROSIES ,NOW HE IS EATING COMETS . HE IS ABOUT 5-6 INCHES AND VERY ACTIVE. I HAVE SOME OSCARS , BLACK FINN SHARKS, SEVERAL CATFISH AND A GREEN TERROR WITH HIM. I BEILIVE HIM TO BE A VERY ENJOYABLE
ADDITION TO MY TANK.
