i got a massive frontosa from LFS that was dropped off and they had no room for him. He’s gorgeous but I can’t get him to feed. No background on his feeding behavior prior but by the looks of him he ate well. Could it be just him getting acclimated? Or should I try something else to intise him? I have a 130g and from what I was told he was only in a 30g. He’s easily 12 inches. Any help would be appreciated.

All my other cichlids are on pellets and sticks. Only thing I have except the occasional blood worms. Would hate to go to live.
The poor guy seems to have been moved a lot in a short amount of time. He is probably stressed out big time. Three different waters in a short amount of time, it's home/store/yours. I would turn the lights out and give it some time to settle in. New everything for it, tank size,water chemistry, activity outside of the tank. He can go a few days without eating.
It’s been closer to 2 weeks now and still haven’t seen him eat. He cowers in a back corner behind a large peice of driftwood when anyone is in the room. I’ve snuck up on them quietly and noticed him out and about bullying the other tank mates which I think is a good sign. I put some feeders in last week. All gone over night but there are plenty of hungry tank mates that could have taken the load. Any suggestions or food types would be highly recommended. He’s getting very skinny.
I also noticed a small case of hole in the head as well. Assuming he came with it. Hoping my good water quality helps. Hat wouldn’t suppress appetite would it? I’m thinking maybe the kid who tossed him at the LFS noticed something he didn’t wanna deal with. I’ll keep trying

Try giving him some more time to settle in. And more hideouts/ or atleast one that he can get into total darkness inside. At a food long, hes in no danger after a couple weeks without eating. I have had similar sized fish go close to two months without eating before, and then one day back to normal.
I have 8 fronts. And every one of them went on a hunger strike for 2 to 4 weeks when they came home. If you thought Oscar's were drama queens, fronts are a whole new level of petty. They all down right refused nls. The first 3 I brought home ate only live with last owner, crammed in a 55 for 2 years. They were very unhealthy with no color. That's beside the point. The first thing I got them to eat was frozen brine. After that I fasted them again and moved them to freeze dried krill. After that I moved onto pellets. They still refused NLS. Only pellet food they ate for months was reef nutrition tdo chromoboost which is fine because that food has good ingredients. They eat that along with hikari carnivore. AND just this week they started to accept NLS which is great because it's much cheaper than the tdo. The others I got as babies and were much easier to get them to eat anything.
I also got them to eat some omega one shrimp pellets early on too. Could you post some pictures so we can see how his weight looks. Even a skinny front could go weeks without any food.
Not the best shot as I can’t get close to tank or he bolts. But that’s him next to me 5-6 inches. He’s a moose, but very thin.
